Ghorepani Pun Hill Trek

                    Ghorepani, Poon Hill Trek

Before entering into the Ghorepani, Poon Hill Trek, I would like to pass on some basic Information regarding Annapurna Conservation Area which was the 1st and the Largest Conservation Area of whole Nepal.

really cool place

Ghorepani is a village in Myagdi District in the Dhawalagiri Zone of northern-central Nepal. It lies 17 kilometres from the district capital of Baglung at an elevation of approximately 2874m (9429ft). The village lies within the Annapurna Conservation Area (ACA) and contains a number of "guest houses" that provide lodging and meals to mountain trekkers, many of whom spend the night before a pre-dawn trek to the top of nearby Poon Hill (3210m/10531ft) to watch the sunrise.
The place used to be a rest stop where ancient traders found water (pani in Nepali) for their horses (ghoda in Nepali) thus leading to the nomenclature Ghorepani.
Ghorepani lies on a major trail linking several other villages as well as the Annapurna Base Camp. From the South-East direction, it can normally be reached by foot from the village of Birethanti in about 10 hours depending on the trekker. However, many trekkers prefer to overnight at one of the lower villages on their way to Ghorepani, covering the distance over two days owing to the steepness of the trail, the increase in altitude and the beauty of the natural surroundings. From the North-West direction, Ghorepani can be reached in about 8 - 10 hours starting from Tatopani. This trail passes through the villages of Shikha, Dana and Chitre.. Ghorepani, Pun Hill Trek is world's Best Trekking spot in the world.takes you to the Heart of Annapurna and Fishtail.

Annapurna (its  a Sanskrit word meaning Food specially Crops) is a section of the Himalayas in the North Central Nepal that includes 8,091 m (26,545 ft) Annapurna I, thirteen additional peaks over 7,000 m (22,970 ft) and 16 more over 6,000 m (19,690 ft).
Annapurna I is 10th among Earth's fourteen 8 thousand meters other Himalayas present in Nepal as well as in other parts of the World..
At 8167meter Dhaulagiri I rises 34 Km to the West across the Kali Gandaki Gorge, considered Earth's deepest canyon. Annapurna is a Sanskrit name which literally means "full of food" (feminine form), but is normally translated as Goddess of Harvest. In the rligion Hinduism, Annapurna is "... the universal and timeless Feeding Goddess ... the mother who feeds."
Without her there is starvation, a universal fear: This makes Annapurna a Universal Goddess ... Her most popular shrine is located in Kashi, on the banks of the river Ganga." Her association with the giving of food (wealth) led her in time to be known as Laxmi, the Goddess of Wealth.
The entire massif and surrounding area are protected within the 7,629 km2 Annapurna Conservation Area, the first and largest conservation area in Nepal. The Annapurna Conservation Area is home to several world-class treks including the Annapurna Circuit.

Everest Base Camp Trek

Everest base camp trek in Nepal is a must do trek in your life time if you are an outdoor lover, dozens of companies offer Everest base camp trek, but we believe our experience, safety precautions, and solid record of trekking, hiking and climbing in the Himalayas make your best choice for trekking in Nepal and Tibet.
CNN International recommended Everest Base Camp trek in Nepal as one of the best top ten adventure trip in the world for 2011.

So come and join us for a trip of the life time, where Orange monasteries are bestowed with colorful prayer flags; carved prayer mani stones line the trails; and an unbending faith in traditional values embrace this Sherpa world of Everest Khumbu region. We also climb Kalapathar (18,190ft) for a stunning close up panoramic view of Everest and other major peaks.
Every trekker and hiker's dream in the world is to stand face to face with the tallest mountain on earth Mt. Everest ! - On our Everest base camp trek, your dreams will come true!! like the picture here in the right is taken from Kalapatthar view point of Everest by our good friend and 2nd time trekker to Nepal Mrs. Joanna Piacchij who did Annapurna trek in 2004 and Everest trek in 2010 October with us, to see beautiful pictures of her Gokyo and Everest base camp trek please click here - you can also stand infront of Mt. Everest like this in our Everest base camp trekking in Nepal.

Mt. Everest Named after Sir George Everest, the British Surveyor General of India at the time when the mountain was first identified as "Point XV" on the border with Nepal and Tibet. To the Sherpas and Tibetans however she is "Chomolungma" - Mother Goddess of the Earth. And the Nepalese have their own name, "Sagarmartha" - Top of the world!
At the foot of Mount Everest, on its southern side, lies the Everest Base camp used by the successful 1953 expedition of late Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Sherpa and countless Everest expeditions ever since. Although situated in the heart of the Himalayas, at a height of 5600 metres (18,370ft), a trek or hike to Everest Base camp is not the sole preserve of high altitude mountaineers. There are no rocky ridges to traverse, no scrambling or technical climbing, just a good well-graded path, accessible to all keen hikers and trekkers, which leads all the way to the foot of the world's highest mountain. However one element that should not be underestimated is that your efforts to experience the Everest trail and its fabulous culture, history and scenery, will all take place at altitude. The key to trekking to Everest Base camp is therefore careful pacing and plenty of time to acclimatise. With more than a decade experience of organising Himalayan treks you can be sure that all Earthbound Expeditions treks to Everest Base camp allow optimum acclimatisation - with some days spent either just walking for a couple of hours or at rest. When choosing a trek to Everest Base camp another factor to look for is whether you will actually reach Base camp or instead, visit the nearby viewpoint peak of Kala Pathar only.
Kala Patar, rather than Everest Base camp itself, offers the best close-up views of Mt. Everest. As we appreciate that reaching Base camp is the main goal for many trekkers and walkers, all of our Everest itineraries include both Everest Base camp and Kala Pathar.
